This sculpture of a human head carved in limestone is from the site of the King Mentuhotep Temple in Deir el-Bahri, near Luxor in Egypt. It is probably linked to the 18th Dynasty (c. 1550-1292 BCE). It was acquired by the Australian Museum via subscription to the Egypt Exploration Fund in 1907.
