E027349 Sled Model - Front, Inuit People, West Greenland, Arctic, North America. Lashed with hide for added flexibility, sledges were drawn by about seven dogs and steered from the rear. The high back supports helped to maneuver the sled over difficult terrain.Sledges were used for transport to hunting or fishing grounds over ice or land.
